MODERNISM WEEK - PALM SPRINGS - INTERVIEW ABOUT THE H5
I had a terrific time at the 2017 Modernism Week in Palm Springs, CA this past February. At the urging of the ever active George Smart, Host and Producer of US Modernist Radio and Executive Director, North Carolina Modernist Houses, the website for Triangle Modernist Archive, Inc., I drove out from Santa Monica where I met up with George and his crew of merry men and women, as well as my good friends, Bill Earls and Fred Noyes, both talented architects in their own right... but that's not all.
Fred is the son of Eliot Noyes, one of the Harvard 5. He continues to manage and curate the famous Noyes house in New Canaan, CT while running his own firm out of Cambridge, MA.
Bill Earls is the author of the book, "The Harvard 5" which carefully describes a number of the most significant modern homes built in NEw Canaan during the mid 20th Century. Passionate about modernism, Bill is an expert in his own right, and his book will soon be available to purchase on this website!
Fred and Bill both delivered incredibly informative and entertaining lectures during Modernism Week, after which, Bill and I got together with George Smart to record the following podcast. It;s great fun, and we hope you will download it and enjoy!
